WAY overdue blog update

wow! it's been 2 months since i've posted on the blog! that is a record i think! but, summer is already in full swing so i thought i should recap our spring! get ready for picture overload!

the grimes clan & mimi/pops came over for a play day and pizza night! fun!

the week before Easter, we went to nash farms and the boys had a BLAST!

of course, on any ACTUAL holiday, my boys know that means someone needs to be sick - it was beckham's turn - hand, foot, and mouth disease (mouth only though) so we had to stay home and decided to play in the mud in our jammies of course!

court took part in a preschool nature school on fridays this spring - and let's just say it was RIGHT UP HIS ALLEY! he loved learning about insects, trees, nature, going on hikes, etc

Happy 4th Birthday Court

We celebrated Court's 4th birthday last weekend at Paradise Pond. Family, friends, and kiddos from Court's class joined us in the big Pirate Celebration! We had SO much fun - no one wanted to leave!! :) Here are most of the kiddos gathered for a group pic. I think they wore themselves out playing non-stop for 2 hours!!

 This is the morning of Court's actual birthday. Presents all over again!

Rhett took off on Court's actual birthday and we did all things that Court wanted to do. He picked going to the Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park, so we headed down town, saw lots of fun animals, pet stingray, then had an outdoor picnic. Our next stop was ice cream for the birthday boy. Then after nap, we headed to play games at Chuck E. Cheese - the BEST time EVER to go (3:30- absolutely NO ONE there!). Then we watched Daddy take off on an airplane for a business meeting while eating Chick Fil A. Needless to say, we crashed when we got home - FUN FUN day celebrating our 4 year old.

it's been a LONG time

it's been SO long since i've posted on the blog - sorry!! since my last post, we've had strep 1 too many times, so both boys had their tonsils out (on the same day). it was well needed, but a stressful 1 1/2 week recovery. they got to enjoy lots of cuddles and popsicles, and thankfully both sets of grandparents were here to help us. we could have never made it without them!! while court was recovering, he was hit by 2 back to back colds which resulted in an awful cough, that eventually led to a pneumonia diagnosis that was later changed to a collapsed lung/lung infection diagnosis. are you still following me? poor guy has been to the dr more times in the last 2 weeks! but, he is healing, and feeling better each day. beckham on the other hand had a hard week and a half after the tonsilectomy and then hit the ground running! thankfully, they are both fully healed from that and we hope to never see another strep test again! :)

christmas 2011 take 2

the second part of our Christmas, we spent in groom with rhett's family. it started with a trip to the dr. for beckham that resulted in a postitive strep test. so, we got on antibiotics, got some for court (since he always catches it) and headed to groom. we got to spend a whole week in groom playing with cousins, playing in the snow, building a HUGE snowman, celebrating the birth of jesus, opening new toys, cooking, baking, watching movies, snuggling, playing some more, eating lots of yummy food, etc. this was the first time since we've had kids that we were able to spend christmas in groom with the whole family! fun!!

sat - nancy's side of the family came over for food, fun, and presents! i think we had over 30 people there!

hadley & court both had reindeer food for santa's reindeer. they decided that the wagon would be the perfect place to put it!

a gentle giant - we think dodger is a bloodhound or coonhound - a little over a year old, with no home. so we gave him one - just couldn't turn this sweet little face away.... :)
