christmas 2011 take 2

the second part of our Christmas, we spent in groom with rhett's family. it started with a trip to the dr. for beckham that resulted in a postitive strep test. so, we got on antibiotics, got some for court (since he always catches it) and headed to groom. we got to spend a whole week in groom playing with cousins, playing in the snow, building a HUGE snowman, celebrating the birth of jesus, opening new toys, cooking, baking, watching movies, snuggling, playing some more, eating lots of yummy food, etc. this was the first time since we've had kids that we were able to spend christmas in groom with the whole family! fun!!

sat - nancy's side of the family came over for food, fun, and presents! i think we had over 30 people there!

hadley & court both had reindeer food for santa's reindeer. they decided that the wagon would be the perfect place to put it!

we've already celebrated christmas part 1 with the grimes' side of the family and we had SO much fun!!! last sunday, we got up early, headed to mimi & pops in our pjs, and played ALL day!! we celebrated christmas with riding the train, wearing rudolf noses, playing with our new toys, watching movies, having a picnic, working on "construction projects", decorating cookies, and of course, more playing!!!

there's nothing better than having a choo-choo train just your size to ride at mimi & pops!!!! can you say - spoiled?!?!!?

what a FUN day celebrating christmas and family!! after naps, we headed to bass pro to partake in all of their fun christmas activities like making ornaments, riding the merry go round, and running ALL over that place!! we had such a fun day! thanks for hosting mimi & pops!!! love, love, love our family time together with everyone!!
today (Tuesday), i had the grand idea to head over to the fw childrens' museum to watch polar express in our jammies. well, let's just say that was an epic failure. i failed to remember (since it's been YEARS since i'd been to the movie there) that they play an intro to their 100's of speakers behind the screen, scare all the kids with how LOUD they can be, and then show the helicopter movie that just about scares everybody!! and this was all BEFORE polar express even started!! court was done, cade and tay were done, and beckham could have cared less because he was chowing down on lunch. walker and bo and lindsey met us there, and poor things - they were the only ones that stayed to enjoy the movie. so - note to self - we will need to be MUCH older to enjoy that theater ever again. mel and i decided next year we will host our own polar express day at a house where we are all safe and there are no loud noises. but, we did enjoy playing all over the fun muesum - it's always a fun time!! :)

what a fun way to spend a rainy, wet day this week!! wed, we met mimi, our friend jackson and his mommy melissa, and a friend from court's class in grapevine. they hold an annual lunch with santa. the gym was filled with crafts, ornaments to make, cookies to decorate, a coloring station, a hot chocolate/lemonade station, a place to write letters to santa, a bounce house, and play area. then santa and mrs. claus came in to visit, there was story time and a puppet show, and elves all over! my boys were never in the same spot together, so that is why there is not a pic of the 2 of them. my boys also didn't even care to go visit santa because there was SO much to do - and i think beckham remembers the trauma from having to sit on santa's lap a couple of weeks ago !! fun, fun day - we will enjoy doing this every year!!

i love christmas!!! i also LOVE having 2 little innocent pairs of eyes and ears that are ALL about this season!! it is SO fun to experience christ's birth through the eyes of court & beckham. we are also having fun with elf on the shelf and getting ready for santa's arrival. how do you balance all of this at this age? i'm finding it hard to explain that christmas is REALLY about celebrating Jesus' birth, but all a 2 & 3 1/2 year old can focus on is presents, presents, and more presents!! we are starting some new traditions this year that i'm hoping will get the true meaning of christmas across. this year, we let the boys pick angels from the angel tree at our church. we helped them pick little boys that were the same age as them. then, we spent a day shopping for just those precious little boys whose parents are in prison. court (as any 3 year old does) wanted just about EVERYTHING in the store, but i tried to convey that we are shopping for children that don't have mommies & daddies to buy them christmas presents. he said that made him so sad. (sweet heart). we also made "blessing bags" for those that are homeless. i tried to explain that some people don't have homes to live in or live out on the street in the cold. court and beckham helped fill the bags with hats, socks, deoderant, soap, toothbrushes, snacks, baby wipes, etc). court filled those things up to the very top! court asked ALOT of questions about why they are homless and where they live, why don't they have money, etc - whew - i don't have enough answers for this boy!! monday, we went to downtown dallas to visit daddy and see the neiman marcus window displays. we took the blessing bags with us and we handed some out - should have taken more. hopefully, they will find some use with the things we gave them - even though they were asking for money. my prayer for our 2 boys has been that God will give them a compassionate heart and love for all people. it's my prayer for myself as well as we go thru our daily lives of busyness!! it's easy to get caught up in wordly things in the world we live in!

we've had a busy and fun december so far. our household was overcome by the stomach bug the week of thanksgiving and court came down with it the day before thanksgiving. so, we ended up staying home in our pj's recovering so we wouldn't expose any family. so - we had a thanksgiving redo over and jon and mel's last sunday. it was a day of fun! eating, snuggling, playing, painting, crafting, and more playing! the boys and tay never got out of their pj's and loved it!!!:) thanks for hosting jon & mel!! the only pics i took that day were of the snuggle fest on the floor so here they are!

that week, we also went to the highland village christmas tree lighting and enjoyed making ornaments, decorating cookies, seeing santa arrive on a fire truck, and watching the tree lighting!

we had so much fun at the tree lighting, that i looked for more around the area and saw there was one in colleyville close to mimi & pops. we headed over there friday afternoon after naps and got to ride ponies, play carnival games, see mrs. claus & santa, get our faces painted, decorate cookies, do crafts, etc and listen to great christmas music & watch the tree lighting. they also had tons of bounce houses which court LOVED and a carriage ride. it was so much fun and we'll have to do this one every year! thanks mimi & pops for letting me drag you along with us to help me corral these two wild and fun boys that want to do EVERYTHING!! :)

we ended up staying longer than planned and rhett got to join us for a little bit after work. fun day/night even though it was a little bit foggy/chilly :)

where has the time gone? it seems like just yesterday, we were bringing you home from the hospital the week before thanksgiving..... SO excited to have a new little baby in the house. now, you are a BIG boy and you are so proud!! you are talking in 2 & 3 word sentences. you want to be JUST like your big brother court. you copy everything he does and everything he says. i love how you always want to play "get your sugar" so i can get all of your kisses. you love to play "chase". you have the BEST, most infectious laugh! you LOVE your daddy and are a daddy's boy when he comes home from work. i love when you say "hold me, hold you" when you want to be held. you still love to suck on your two favorite fingers on your left hand when you are tired or unsure about something. you love to say prayers when we sit down to eat dinner together. you say "God, you (thank you), food, court, daddy, mommy (then the list gets longer and longer), amen!
you are the LIGHT of our lives!! God blessed us tremendously when he gave us you. he must know what he's doing - because you are one strong-willed little boy with a mind all your own, but i LOVE it!!! i love you more and more each day!!

wow! i'm really behind on this blog!! here is a recap of halloween and november in a nutshell!

i took the boys to our local flower mound pumpkin patch just 1 day before it got really cold & rainy. beckham was the only one in the mood for picture takin' so i got one good one in. :)

here are our 2 professional trick-or-treaters! this was beckham's 1st year to really trick or treat. once he realized that you get candy everytime you knock on the door, he was all over that!! until he got his favorite m&m's. then, he just stayed in the wagon and ate the rest of the way. :) court on the other hand, would hand back the candy he didn't like. we had to have a quick talk about being thankful for what you're given... and that mommy & daddy will eat whatever candy you don't like! :) silly boy!

the first weekend of nov, we went camping with one of our favorite families - the merriman's. first time camping with the boys in a tent and it was pretty cold that night. we had a great time playing baseball, making smores, playing by the lake, and riding bikes. note to self: do not go camping on day light savings weekend - we were up at 5:30 AM!! but, it was SO much fun!!

first cold night and we made a fire. the boys kicked up their feet and court declared that we needed to make chocolate chip cookies to eat every time we have a fire. so, i've got to keep the pantry stocked for that boy! great tradition!!!!

and we celebrated this precious 3 year old!!! can't believe God blessed our family with this amazing little man 3 years ago!!! we had fun at his pirate bash - and uncle rhett even got to eat ice cream with tay tay!! :)

Pumpkin Patch 2011

still trying to play blog catch up!! at the end of october, we all met at a FUN pumkin patch in grapevine. it had an "old vintage farm" feel to me. we got to play on the outside of the corn maze, play in the real pumpkin patch while exploring the different stages of pumpkins, play on the playground, ride pint-size tractors, eat kettle korn, go on a hayride and feed donkeys & cows, and just have a great time. unfortunately, rhett came down with strep that morning, so he was home with fever. but, next year he will join us for sure! :) i borrowed these pics from mel's blog because i forgot to take my good camera. thank goodness aunt missy always has her camera or i might never have pics to document our fun!!

FAIR DAY

when the fair was in town, pops and i took the boys and we had a blast. pops started taking the boys (well court - since beckham was too little & cade couldn't make it) last year and it's a fun tradition. hopefully, next year - the whole clan can join in! we decided to ride the train and court and beckham thought that was great!! beckham screamed almost the whole ride there - pops, train, choo-choo! i'm sure the other passengers were glad when we got off.

this is the "hands on the farm" exhibit and let me just say that it was the boys favorite! after you plant seeds, feed the animals, collect eggs, ride the tractors, you get a snack for all of your hard work. we did this exhibit twice while we were at the fair - the boys loved it so much!

let's just say that court will be our roller coaster rider. beckham screamed the ENTIRE ride even though i was holding him the whole time! :) court, on the other hand wanted to ride them all!

it's been a LONG time since i've blogged. life is just fun and busy right now! :) in september, we headed to groom for a long labor day weekend. the boys just love being at nanny and grandad's - we are outside from sun up til sun down and they have the best time just being "boys". we went to the school and played on the playground, ran across the football field, and saw where daddy went to school.

we went to see the famous cross and learned all about jesus dying on the cross to save us from our sins. and boy - does this 3 1/2 year old have ALOT of questions!!

my boys LOVE going to the winkids gym. we signed both boys up for classes this summer, and let me just say - it was some of the best money we spent!!! beckham has even learned to yell "GYM" when we drive by it - he loves it so much. last week was SHOW OFF week since it was the last week. court took a sportsters class that involved gymnastics, football, baseball, and soccer. he did GREAT in ALL sports. beckham and i took a mommy & me class (just like the one court and i took while i pregnant with beckham). he did so great - learning how to jump, swing on the swings, flip over the bar, balance beam, log roll, forward & backward roll, etc. he still practices those daily at home. here are some pics of show off day for both boys. pardon the blurry iphone pics! :)

we got a very short, but very sweet visit from hadley, ryan, and reese on their way to groom to stay with nanny & grandad for the week. it was so great for the cousins to spend time together since we don't get to see them often enough! court and ryan had a slumber party in court's room and he was SO excited!! court was the last one asleep out of everybody - because he just couldn't get rid of those hiccups he kept getting from laughing so much!!! we had SO much fun!!! can't wait til christmas when we get to see more of the james family in groom!!

boy! we've had a busy 2 weeks! swim lessons 4 days a week for 2 weeks can wear a momma (and a court) out!! but, it is SO worth it to us! court went from not wanting his face to go under the water at the beginning of the summer to jumping off the diving board and swimming across the pool. he learned so much and is our little fishy!! we will enjoy practicing all his "tricks" as he calls them. but, i still will make him wear his floaties (muscles) since i definitely don't trust his swimming abilites just yet. will i ever? i really don't know that i will - just too many scary things happening around us with pool accidents! :) check out my little swimmer! we are SO proud of you court!

at the beginning of the video, you will notice court going to the bathroom in the grass. miss ladonna teaches them to just go in their suit and i think it might be court's favorite thing to do - because today at show off day he told her he had to go 3 times!! all boy - that is for sure!

i can't believe it's been a month since my last blog post! we have had a BUSY summer. the boys are in a gymnastics/sports class at the gym each week, we've been swimming alot, had play dates, and court is taking swim lessons for the next 2 weeks. summer is FLYING by! i don't want summer to end, but i do want some cooler weather! :) here are some pics of what we've been up to lately!

what a fun-filled weekend we had!! saturday, we spent the entire day swimming at mimi/pop's and celebrating father's day with uncle jon, aunt missy, cade, tatum, and mimi/pops. we swam, played, made homemade ice cream, took long naps and ate, ate, ate. i don't think beckham went 5 full minutes without eating something! :)

we were WORN out by the time we got home. court and beckham both fell asleep by 7:45 and rhett and i crashed by 9:30. we had a blast hanging out and celebrating the dads in our family. we are blessed with great dads all around: pops, grandad, uncle jon, and rhett. we've had GREAT examples of DADS in our lives - and it shows in watching how rhett and jon love to be daddies!!! :)

sunday - we worked in the nursery at church and then came home to lunch and naps and celebrating rhett with his favorite meal for dinner: chicken fried steak. at the end of this week, nanny and grandad are visiting so we will get to celebrate with them too! they are keeping the boys for a long weekend so rhett and i can go on an anniversary/birthday trip!! woohoo! can't wait!!

we've had a fun week! this was court's first week of summer - no more mother's day out. but, what a blessing that i get to spend EVERY day with these 2 precious gifts from GOD! :) love love love being a stay at home mommy! :)

wednesday we spent 2 1/2 hours at this great park by mimi & pop's house. cade, tatum, & aunt missy met us there and we had a picnic and played, played, played!

i looked over and court had made it to the top of this spider web climbing thing all by himself! and of course, "you know who" had to do the exact same thing as big brother!! :)

thursday we went to see cade's play at his school but the pics on my phone did not turn out. we loved seeing his cute performance and eating lunch with tay and mimi!

friday we met ginny and levi at paradise pond in grapevine. it was beckham's first time to go and he LOVED it!!

friday night we ate at mooyah burgers and then got some rita's frozen treats! and of course had to play in the fountains!! :)

it's been a long time...

... since i've posted on the blog. don't really know why - just busy with life i guess. we have had a great month! mother's day was OH SO SPECIAL this year with my 3 FAVORITE boys! they spoiled me rotten! rhett was out of town the week before mother's day and one of my surprises was a cleaning fairy that will come to our house every other week. oh, so nice! i also got pampered with some new comfy house shoes, and a lovely afternoon pedicure. court and beckham made me lots of homemade cards, pictures, and i got a special mommy sticker that i got to wear. court was so proud. love my sweet, sweet boys. how blessed i am to be their mommy.

and the reason i don't have pics of the last 2 weeks.......

rhett bought an i touch while he was on a business trip because verizon wouldn't let us upgrade to an i phone yet without paying basically a year's tuition of school for court (crazy!). so, we got an i touch and used it for skyping with rhett while he traveled. i used it to take all these great pics the last 2 weeks, and then verizon sent me a text saying i could upgrade to an iphone. they sent it the exact same day our receipt for returning the i touch expired. so - ya better believe it - i went straight to the apple store to return the i touch - so i could get my hands on the i phone. but, i somehow lost ALL my pics.... mother's day with our whole family, the boys playing, first time fishing, etc. don't know how that happened since i did sync them to our computer - but, nope, can't find them at all! so, just picture all 10 of us on my side of the family enjoying a great lunch on mother's day - the kids did great at the restaurant! i was so impressed! also, picture rhett and the boys fishing for the first time and lots of play time pics. i will leave you with one pic of court and his best buddy from school (the last pic i took on my actual camera).

i have a feeling court and grant are going to be life-long friends..... and probably get into some trouble together. :)

Calling ALL prayer warriers!!

My SIL Melissa's cousin Sarah is in need of your prayers. This is copied from Mel's blog this morning:

She is battling AML Leukemia. There are three different stages within the AML. This morning the doctor informed us that the stage Sarah has is the lowest stage, meaning she has a 50% success rate. The chemo that she is getting, (on day 3 of 7 today) will put her in remission, but the cure is for her to have a bone marrow transplant. Her sister and brother are the best chance and they were tested yesterday, the results will be in on Friday. Pray that Jeremy is a match, it would be a miracle, and we believe in miracles! Heather would be a good match too, but not the best since she has had 3 children and shared antibodies/chromosomes with them. If they are not a match she will be put on a list for a bone marrow transplant. Sarah is strong and believing the promise that God will never give her more than she can handle!

Sarah had leukemia when she was 4 and has been in remission ever since. Apparently (as I understand it), the chemo she received then is what has caused this to surface now. We know she can beat this!! :) Will update as I hear more.

a couple of weeks ago, we met mimi, aunt missy, cade, and tatum at the dallas arboretum. we almost blew away it was SO windy, but it sure was FUN!!! we had a yummy picnic, then went for a walk/run around the beautiful grounds. there are several fun castles that the kids enjoyed! :)

a few weeks ago, most of the ladies from my momma's side of the family (even 2 that flew in from CA) headed to new braunfels for a weekend of laughter, yummy food, wine, mornings and nights on the covered front porch, shopping, eating more yummy food, staying up late, sleeping in, snuggling with babies, etc. we had a GREAT time! next time we need at least 1 more day for extra shopping!! can't wait for next year!!

3 years old

i still can't believe i have a 3 year old in my house!! time has FLOWN by this year. i remember when court turned 2 last year (beckham was just a newborn) and i thought - wow - if i can just get thru this first year with 2, i think i might just make it. boy - did it fly right past me! court turned 3 at 1:58 p.m. (monday), but we had his SUPER WHY birthday party on saturday with all his friends and family. 4 of his friends from his class came and he was just SO excited about everyone joining us!

i LOVE that we measure our boys on the door frame that goes from the kitchen to the garage so we have a record of it. court grew 3 INCHES in 1 year. WOW! no wonder he complained of his legs aching often! that is ALOT of work! he is my tall, skinny boy (17%) and i LOVE every inch of him. i LOVE that he is talking in full sentences now. one of my favorite things at night when we are reading and saying prayers is that he wants me (or rhett) to tell him a story. we've started asking him to tell us a story, and he just CRACKS us up! he is one goofy boy with a tremendous imagination!
i remember the day court was born like it was yesterday. it was a long day of contractions (that started at 2 AM), an epidural, the doctors & nurses trying not to freak me out because i had placenta abruption (but they didn't tell me til after), and then an emergency c-section. i was SO ready for him to be here and hearing him cry was the BEST sound ever!
we thank GOD EVERY single day for our precious blessing, court. he is kind-hearted, spirited, active, rambunctious, full of energy, ALL BOY, compassionate, loving, a GREAT big brother, SMART beyond belief, a great listener, loves to read, loves to learn and ask questions, magnificent child of GOD. we LOVE you court jackson patterson.

court and i went to townsell elem. in irving this morning. our church held a scholastic book fair last month and donated almost 1,000 books - today we held 2 assemblies for the kiddos and at the end EACH one got a brand new book. they were SO excited. court did a great job helping sort out the books this morning by class. he LOVED trying to carry the "heavy" boxes. we watched a presentation by some of our children's ministry leaders, listened to a great book on courage, and then walked with a kindergarten class back to their room. once we were there, court passed out a new book to each little boy and girl. he was SO proud to be giving them something they may not have much of at home. this morning on the way to the school, we talked about how blessed we are to have so many books at our house, and how lucky we are to have a great library where we can go borrow books to read. i told him that some little boys and girls don't have books at their house and some don't have mommies and daddies to read to them every night. he just kept saying... "oh". he has such a sweet heart. while we were in the assembly, my phone rang twice and it was a flower mound # that i didn't recognize (i really thought it was the library calling about a book i had on hold) so i didn't answer it. we walked the books back to the classes and while we were waiting for the 2nd assembly to start, that number called back so i answered it. it was my mom (mimi) who was at our house while beckham napped. she had our neighbor's phone because she locked herself out of our house. she was frantic! she had already called the fire dept. who was on their way. so, court and i just left ASAP without even saying goodbye. by the time i got to the car i finally realized that beckham was ok - mom just couldn't get in the house. so, we hurried home to let mimi in but the great firemen had already gotten in our back door. YAY! so, we took mimi to chuck e. cheese to raise her blood pressure a little more! :)

it wasn't too long ago that i locked myself out of our house while beckham was on the couch (2 months old & couldn't roll yet) and court was in the living room. luckily, my jeep door was unlocked and i got in through the garage. but, i did have a minor heart attack once i realized i couldn't get back in. so, rhett is now on his way to make multiple sets of our keys to give to neighbors! :)

i'm so sad i don't have any pics of our day of service today. i didn't take my camera because i knew we couldn't officially take pics of the public school kiddos - crazy rules. but, i was planning on taking 1 with my cell phone, but i was a little preoccupied with a frantic phone call! :)

this little cutie pie is trying to tell me something....... he thinks he doesn't need to take two naps. :)

for about a week he has had a HARD time going down for his afternoon nap. i would not have ANY idea about this except we have a video monitor. beckham goes down with no problem and has just been playing, rolling over, walking all over his crib, standing on his head, playing with the bumper, etc in COMPLETE SILENCE. one day i just happened to look at the video monitor and realized he wasn't actually sleeping - for 1 1/2-2 hours he entertains himself! crazy! so, i got out my ole' trusty babywise books and blog (just love that stuff). and low and behold - it says the "average" age that babies stop needing 2 naps is between 14-22 months. and beckham is now 15 1/2 months old. so, there ya go. one of the suggestions (if you feel your child still needs 2 naps) is to shorten the morning nap and then they will still take a long afternoon nap. i still feel like he could benefit from 2 naps for at least a couple more months, so we tried this today.

poor boy has green/yellow gunk coming out of his nose and a cough, so they won't let us bring him to church so i tried out this new plan this morning. i put him down at 9 for a 1 hour nap (and boy he sure was sleeping good when i got him up :( ), and then he went straight to sleep at 1 when i put him down just now. RIGHT TO SLEEP!! :) so, i think this just might work. i have a feeling sometime this summer he will only need 1 nap just like big brother. i think court was over the whole morning nap thing about 18-19 months. they grow up sooo fast!!!! :)

wednesday, we headed to northpark mall to meet mel, cade, and tatum at the disney store for story time. let's just say that lots of mommies had the same idea! :) it was crowded but so much fun!! we heard a story about winnie the pooh and after chasing beckham around, i decided he needed to be buckled in. give him some food and he is one happy boy! i think he gets the most enjoyment out of running away from me, squealing, and then seeing if i'm chasing him, which makes him go even faster! wears me out! tatum and court just sat there the whole time listening contently. cade (who is SO into toy story) found the toy story display and lined them all up perfectly. he was the cutest thing! next, we headed upstairs for a quick bite of lunch, had to throw pennies in the fountain, and then outside to run off some energy!

beckham's baby dedication

last sunday, we dedicated beckham at our church. it was a great time of worship with our family and friends while proclaiming before God and our church to raise beckham in a way that honors God: morally, spiritually, in our parenting, etc. we are so blessed to have a church that recognizes this important time in a child's life. several of our friends also joined us for this special occasion - thanks kim, mike, kim, and chris. i don't know if you can tell by the pics, but beckham had just gotten over the stomach virus (rhett actually took him home after the dedication part of the service) and unfortunately court got it on monday. but, sunday was spent celebrating with our family! thanks nanny, grandad, mimi, pops, aunt jan, uncle jon, aunt missy, cousin cade, and cousin tatum for celebrating with us!

precious little sullivan received his first round of chemo yesterday and if all goes well today, the doctors are going to let him go home later this afternoon. rhett and i are heading to their house this morning with about 15 other people to sanitize and clean their house from top to bottom to hopefully get rid of all the germs before he gets home. we decided that the kessler family will be our focus of service for the month of february. we are honored to serve them any way we can while they go thru this horrible experience. we are praying for a miraculous healing for little sully and know that GOD can do just that!! thanks again for adding him to your prayer list!

Sullivan's prognosis is not good...it is a rare form of cancer. There is no cure for this horrible disease that has chosen his precious body in which to reside. Jason and Kristie have chosen a less invasive chemo treatment plan that will not destroy Sully's face and will allow them a little more quality time at home. He will begin chemotherapy tomorrow, and they are hoping to have him home early next week. Please join me in praying for a miracle for Sullivan, and for comfort and peace for his parents Jason and Kristie, and big brother Jackson. Thanks for praying!

is this one of the sweetest faces you've ever seen? this is sullivan. his mommy, kristie, sits at my MOPS table twice a month and also goes to our church. he is 2 years old and last week his parents took him to the dr. because he was having trouble with his vision. they immediately sent him to children's hospital and since then have found 4 malignant tumors in his little body. he has a rare type of cancer called alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. he can't see right now and only wants his mommy to hold him because that is his only comfort right now. it just breaks my heart. he has an older brother who doesn't understand what is going on right now either. please add them to your prayer list as they begin radiation soon because chemo is not an option at this time. they are all physically and emotionally exhausted but are trusting in God as best they can. i just can't imagine. here is their caringbridge site with more updates.

we have been stuck inside for the last 3 days due to lots of ICE. not really snow and court is very disappointed that he can't build a snowman. hopefully, tonight and tomorrow there will be enough snow for him to build one. rhett has been home for the last 2 days and boy have we enjoyed it! it took rhett 1 1/2 hours to get to work today and we've had to come up with ALOT of creative things to do while daddy is gone. when rhett was here we at least got out of the house once a day to go run an errand, but i'm too chicken to drive in this stuff by myself.

so, today, we've made a pillow mountain to climb on mommy & daddy's bed. this was a GREAT way to burn off some energy for these little boys.

we also rode down the stairs in the laundry basket. great workout for mommy and daddy!!

we have read a TON of books!

played LOTS of games.

i think court is trying to make as many goofy faces as he can today...

and snuggled ALOT with mommy today. boy i LOVE being a stay at home mommy. being "stuck" inside can get a little crazy after 3 days, but i sure do cherish all of this "time" i have with my boys. i think this is a very hard/demanding job because i am tired ALL of the time, but i wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. i'll NEVER get this time back with my babies. i'll never get to spend this much quality time with them trying to instill Godly values, morals, character, patience, etc into their little minds and hearts. i'm blessed that God chose me to be their mommy and that He has given me the opportunity to be the one that loves on them ALL day long. i love that i'm the one that gets to witness each phase of their childhood years (even the stressful, crazy, meltdown days)! hope you have enjoyed the time off with your babies too!

we bundled up this morning and headed to the airport to greet the troops arriving home. the boys stayed in their pjs, we grabbed some donuts and took a ride. court wore his rainboots and he and beckham were quite the sight for the early morning greeters. the veterans and older greeters came and took pictures of the boys with their pjs and flags while beckham flirted and played peek-a-boo with them. the flight ended up being delayed a little bit, so we were all just trying to pass the time entertaining them. the boys did GREAT! court enjoyed waving to the troops and clapping for them and beckham enjoyed squealing when he heard the other greeters cheering. what an honor it was to be in the presence of heroes today. the men and women that walked off that plane make it possible for us to celebrate holidays like new year's eve without having to worry about our safety. we enjoyed thanking them for their service today. it was a very small gesture, but the look on the service members faces was PRICELESS!

they usually hand out the soldier bears to children of soldiers who are at the airport to greet their parents. but, there weren't any kids today so, the veterans came and gave one to our boys. we are looking forward to doing this again soon!

christmas 2010

what a great christmas holiday. i love that court is at the age that he is starting to "get" everything that is going on. it is SO SWEET to watch. i love that he wanted to make a birthday cake for jesus. each night we read about the birth of jesus and the wise men coming to bring gifts to jesus. it's just precious to hear court repeat that story.

the week before christmas, court's class got a visit from "santa". i was curious to see court's reaction because each time we saw santa at the mall, he only wanted to wave and not get any closer. he did great with his class. he was definitely a little hesitant about getting on his lap, but after most of his class did, he agreed to go so mommy could get a picture. here is his class walking in to see santa.

he told santa that he wanted a "green horn" for christmas. he saw a green horn in a christmas book he read with mimi and that is all he could talk about. so - santa delivered a green horn in his stalking christmas morning and court was SO EXCITED!

rhett and i gave each other 12 dates for 2011. so, we will have 2 planned dates a month! woohooo - i'm so excited. rhett got really fancy with the packages too.... here are ALL my dates! :) i have the best hubby!

we were hoping to see aunt heather, uncle ray, hadley, ryan, and reese on their way to groom for christmas. but, unfortunately, they were ALL sick: burst ear drum, strep, colds, coughs...... just no fun. so, they bypassed our house to keep the germs away. hopefully, we'll be able to see them for ryan's birthday in a couple of weeks.

christmas eve we headed over to mimi/pop's to celebrate. here is court making jesus a birthday cake. mommy forgot to bring the happy birthday hat from church and court was not happy......

bath time!!! right after bath time, we heard santa's sleigh outside our window. we all looked out and saw rudolf's red-nose flying by (uncle jon). it enticed them to get to bed so santa could come! the grimes' headed home in their pj's to have christmas at their house. you wouldn't know it from these pics, but poor cade had a rough christmas day. he ended up going to the emergency room and after too many tests for such a sweet boy, he also has strep and rsv. we are hoping for a quick recovery for that precious boy.

here we are setting out santa's cookies and milk. court and beckahm had to taste them to make sure santa would like them. we also put out hay for the reindeer that court got from school.

christmas morning started about 6:45 AM - both boys woke up EXACTLY at the same time. so, once i got the video camera ready, we all headed in to see what santa brought.

sunday, we headed to northpark to see the trains! court and cade are at such a GREAT age - and they LOVE trains! santa is actually bringing court & beckham a train table this year (i better remind him :)).

we grabbed a quick bite for lunch and then headed to see the trains. wow! it was PACKED!! i think we were all sweating by the time we left.

our christmas card

we are doing a "digital" christmas card this year. since our "christmas card" went out in FEBRUARY last year, i decided we'd do a digital one so it would be on time. just haven't had the time to pick a card, get it ordered, address envelopes, and get to the post office. i've been a little too busy chasing around 2 wild and crazy boys, and enjoying every minute of my time with them. maybe next year we'll get into the swing of things again.

some of my favorite sounds of this holiday season are:
court singing "rudolf the red-nosed reindeer" and "jingle bells" before his naptime and bedtime.
beckham laughing SO hard when court tickles him that i have to tell him to breathe
rhett reading the christmas story to the boys before bed and other stories about Jesus.
court telling me that "Jesus was a GREAT man mommy!" and "Jesus is God's son".

christmas just gets better and better each year with these two precious gifts from God. i love that court is SO interested in Jesus' birthday - he even wants to bake him a birthday cake (something he came up with all on his own).
one thing we are looking forward to (if we are able) this year is to go to church on christmas eve as a family. we have ALWAYS done this as a family since i can remember. growing up one of my favorite things we did, was to go out of town to be with extended family over the holidays.... cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. we always got dressed up and went to christmas eve services at church and had the best time together. then, we would come home and open 1 present (some how it was almost always pajamas....). we would finally get to sleep that night and wake up at the crack of dawn to see what santa brought. when we were older, at aunt candy's house, we would all go around and tell what we were thankful for and my mom could NEVER do it without crying - it was the family joke - waiting to see if she would cry or not. we would open presents for HOURS in our pajamas and snack all morning and just play, play, play. such great memories.
now, that we have babies, some of the things we've always done have changed (which is a reasonable expectation when you have a growing family) - like we don't travel to see extended family but we (rhett and i and the boys) do go every other year to spend christmas in groom. we trade off each year for christmas since rhett's family is out of town. i love that court and beckham are getting to spend christmas morning with the grandparents and sometimes the cousins! since we've had kids, we've either had newborns around on christmas eve, or one that was already asleep for the night when church started, or an ice storm like last year, so we haven't been to a christmas eve service the last 2 years. but, this year i think we will finally get to enjoy church together to celebrate jesus' birth (knock on wood that no one has fever). i don't mind changing things up a bit, because that is just what you do when you have little ones and there are more around that you have to accommodate. a growing family just means more to enjoy during this wonderful season!

rhett and i have been doing alot of praying and talking lately about what we want our "family legacy" to be - after hearing this AMAZING sermon from jay utley at IBC. it is titled "it starts at home" and it is all about the MOST important things to teach your children. rhett and i have had several discussions about what we feel are the most important characteristics/attributes we want our children to develop as they grow up. here is our list in progress.....

1. love & honor God with your whole heart
2. love and honor your family
3. serve others as Jesus did
4. treat others as you want to be treated

it's a simple list - but one we want to strive to incorporate into our daily lives. we aren't perfect parents by any means, and i'm trying to figure out the best place to put this list so it can be a daily reminder for us. one of our family goals for 2011 is to do an act of service in some form each month. we're actually starting early and will be going to greet the troops at DFW once rhett is off for the christmas holidays. we live so close to the airport and they arrive daily at 8 AM (we are up for sure around here). we just want to make a point to thank the men and women who serve our country and keep us safe! at our last MOPS meeting, the speaker gave us some great ideas/ways to incorporate serving in our family's daily life and it really got me motivated to start doing that with our family. hopefully, we'll make this a lifelong commitment.

sunday we got all the christmas decorations out and also headed out to see ICE at the gaylord. none of us had ever been and court absolutely LOVED it - especially since it was charlie brown! :)

thanksgiving

we had the BEST time in groom last week for thanksgiving. i'm so thankful that rhett was able to have the WHOLE week off. it's SO nice having an extra pair of hands. as soon as we got to groom, i got my camera out to take pics and it said - charge battery (and i didn't take the charger). AGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! we took SOOO many pictures at beckham's party, that it wore the camera out! so, unfortunately, i don't have any pictures of ALL the fun we had playing outside, feeding the fish in the pond, digging for worms, sliding down the slide, going on wagon rides, raking leaves, sliding into leaves, learning how to walk, eating chocolate chip cookies, eating LOTS of yummy food and dessert, seeing lots of family, watching fun movies, taking naps, helping daddy with the turkey he got, helping grandad drive the big red truck, and getting spoiled, spoiled, spoiled!!! we always have such a great time up there!! :) court did NOT want to leave!

oh how time FLIES when you're having fun! i feel like this last year has been one CRAZY, busy, FUN, exhausting, BLESSING! everyone told me that having 2 so close together would be hard the first year (and i have to say i had some hard days & many fun great days as well).... so i'm now looking forward to it getting easier. now that beckham is walking, i think it will be a little easier since i won't have to carry him everywhere. :)

my 1 year old is SUCH A BLESSING. God knew what he was doing when he gave me beckham - he is a great napper and sleeper (except this week when he decided to practice walking in his crib at 1 AM!!). he is a SWEET boy that is for sure. he loves his mama and his daddy..... in fact, he's starting to turn into a daddy's boy. :) he is very easy going and will just watch everyone and everything around him - that is until you take something dangerous away from him. then, his other personality emerges and it is an all out fit! :) he is not afraid of anything - he crawls up and over everything. he can make it up the stairs all by himself and wants to go down on his tummy which we don't let him do! he wants to do everything his big brother court does and doesn't understand why he can't ( i have a feeling this is going to happen for the next 20 years!). he is our precious gift from GOD and we are so thankful for him.

when i was a teacher, i remember planning and planning each and every holiday party wanting it to be so much fun for the kiddos. now, i don't have to worry about the planning part, just the fun part! rhett and i (and beckham of course) got to join court's class during their halloween party today. it was so cute watching court with his friends. he was VERY excited that daddy was at his school. he couldn't stop smiling! :)

i NEVER do this - post about something i want you to watch. but, this is worth it. rhett and i heard the BEST sermon we've ever heard yesterday at church. we have a GREAT speaking team at church and this speaker, jay utley, is spectacular. if you have time to watch, please do. it's on parenting - and the MOST important job we have - teaching our children about GOD and not taking that lightly. WOW is all i can say. have your tissues ready. i forgot my purse (with my tissues in it) and at one point, rhett was offering me his shirt..... :) it's really great - i promise.

11 is heaven!

where, oh where, has the time gone???? i just have NOT had enough baby time with this little one who is becoming bigger and bigger each and every day.
he is now 20.4 lbs and REALLY long. haven't measured him so i don't have an exact length! he is ALMOST walking! he will stand all by himself for a really long time, but wants to hold on to something to actually take a step. he is jabbering ALL THE TIME! if we could just understand him. we know exactly what he means when he is excited - which is pretty much any time he sees court, or daddy, or is having fun outside, etc. he is eating/drinking/sleeping like a champ still. he's doing great with finger foods, but definitely still loves baby food as well. he loves to clap and dance when he hears mickey mouse clubhouse on the tv. he loves to play peek-a-boo while he's eating. he loves to give kisses. he loves to get tickled. he loves taking a bath. he loves playing outside in the sand. he loves pushing anything and everything. he loves to snuggle right before naptime or bedtime. he loves to "feel" things with 1 finger before he eats it or plays with it. he loves to wake up at 6:30 AM after 11 hours of sleep. he loves saying mamamamamamama and dadadadadadadada and a bunch of other jibberish. he has 8 teeth. he only has 1 more month of being a baby and i need to freeze this month in time. :(and he is 1 of 3 LOVES of my LIFE! i am blessed beyond measure.

state fair of texas

pops and i took court to his 1st state fair of texas last friday. i hadn't been in YEARS - i think the last time i went was when rhett and i were dating. court had a BLAST!! the first thing we did was head straight to the "hands on the farm" exhibit and court got to be a farmer for the day. here he is feeding the chickens, milking the cows, planting seeds, and riding a tractor. then he got to "buy" a snack (doritos) which he chowed down on! as soon as he was done with that he wanted a corny dog because i had been telling him ALL about them. we made a pit-stop at the petting zoo to feed the animals first and then fed this hungry boy!!

my picky boy didn't want the hot dog inside, so he just ate the outside! :)

cade, tatum, and melissa joined us at the pumpkin patch last week. once we finally got there (after i took us on a long detour because i missed the turn), we had a blast! it was a little hard to get pics of the big boys because they did not stay still very long. they had to run through the pumpkin fields, bounce in the bounce house, climb the hay stack, drive the car, climb through the train, and eat!

we finally painted the playroom (with lots of help from nanny and grandad). rhett put together these shelves from ikea and we also have a magnetic wall by the stairs to put all of court's artwork that he brings home from school. we love this warm color. notice how clean and organized this looked the first night. hasn't looked the same since!!

10 months is oh so fun!

beckham pierce is now 10 months old. he turned 10 months old while we were in groom visiting rhett's parents. rhett and his dad were still in colorado elk hunting so we flew to amarillo to stay 1/2 the week with nanny and drive back with daddy. court and beckham (and mommy) were SO glad to see rhett! court could NOT stop talking and he did not fall asleep that night til almost 10 pm!

i took VERY few pics on our trip - only because it was the last thing i thought of. being a single mom sure is hard! i'm so glad i had ALL the grandparents available to help out! mimi & pops sure helped us the 1st half of the week and nanny took over once we got to groom.

here is our big "little bitty". he learned to crawl and stand up in the same day when he turned 9 months old and he hasn't stopped since! he is letting go ALL the time so i know he will walk early! :) he is "talking" alot too! he can say: dada, mama, and grunts when mickey mouse comes on the t.v. court has taught him well! he takes two great naps during the day and sleeps 11 hours at night. when it's bedtime, he will LEAN towards the bed - does NOT want to be held or rocked - just put him down! he is such an easy baby! he is eating all sorts of table food. wants anything and everything we have. he is doing really good with a sippy cup too.

he just loves his big brother court and lights up every time he sees him. court is SUCH a good big brother. while rhett was hunting, we were driving the accord and court could touch beckham. he would reach over and hold his hand and it was just the cutest thing ever!! until beckham started squeezing too hard and then that was enough of that!

i guess i better get started planning his 1st birthday coming up! i'm secretly wishing we could just pretend it's not almost here. i don't want my baby to "not be a baby" anymore!!! :(

Beckham is 9 months old

what? did i really just write that? i can't believe it! beckham is now a CRAWLER!!! he's still perfecting his moves, but boy does he like being able to get places! court - watch out because all of "your toys" will now be shared with beckham. i feel world war 3 coming on.

beckham is in one of my favorite phases - starting to crawl, and showing us his precious personality. when rhett comes home from work each day, he gets SO EXCITED to see him that tears start falling and rhett has no choice but to pick him up right away. beckham has definitely found his voice because he can let out the loudest squeal whether he is happy, sad, or mad. changing beckham's diapers should be considered an olympic sport at this point because there is NO laying still. we give him toy after toy to distract him but he is still ALL over the place. the other day, i think it took rhett 15 minutes to change his diaper and i hear - "man, that is the HARDEST diaper i have EVER changed!"

i don't have his "official" stats yet, but we go to the doc next week. i know he is definitely growing though!

we are so thankful for this precious baby boy. i need him to stay a baby for a bit longer because i'm not really ready for him to be all grown up yet! God has blessed me SO much and i am SO thankful to be this little boy's mommy!

i shared a special moment with court today. i put beckham down for his morning nap and we were upstairs getting cleaned up (from sweating to death at the park at 8:00 AM). court and i were just about to go downstairs when he said, "mommy, read books in court's big boy bed." (melt my heart). so, i said - sure! and we spent the next 30-45 minutes laying in his big boy bed reading books together at 10:00 AM. we would read one, and then he would say "nother one" and run and pick out one more. it was my favorite part of my day today because it was something so simple and yet so meaningful. i know that there will come a day when he won't want to do things like that because he'll be too busy with his friends or he'll be "all grown up". this time i have with beckham and court goes by too fast. i still haven't figured out how to freeze time.

i love being a stay at home mom. sure, i'm tired ALL the time and my house is NEVER clean enough. every day i think - i really need to get more organized and do a better job of keeping the house picked up. i've been guilty of trying to plan something to do with these "full of life" boys every day of the week so they can burn off some energy. but, i think i'm beginning to realize how important it is for us to have down time at home. i'm beginning to see that God opens up opportunities for me to spend REAL QUALITY time with court and REAL QUALITY time with beckham. and boy do i cherish that! i will take as much of that as i can get. court starts mother's day out 2 days a week at the end of august. it's a little bittersweet for me. while i KNOW that he will thrive in a class setting with a teacher and friends to learn and play with, i will also MISS him. but, it will give me some one-on-one time with my little man beckham which i also need. these boys are growing up WAY too fast. i can't wait to see what God has in store for them.

it's almost too hot to swim this week because the pool water is even warm. but, boy are we glad we can go jump in mimi/pops pool whenever we want! we joined cade, tatum, and aunt missy at mom/dads today to swim and play. and snuggle.... fun, fun, fun!

beckham is already 8 MONTHS old! can you believe it? i sure can't. these little "milestone" birthday months keep sneaking up on me and i just don't like how fast his 1st year is going! this little ball of energy is just the best baby. he is a great sleeper - sleeps 11 hours at night and still takes 3 naps a day. we'll probably start trying to stop one of those pretty soon. :) he LOVES to eat, and i mean LOVES! i think he would eat all of our food over this baby food stuff any day! he puts anything and everything in his mouth. still has 4 teeth and drools NONSTOP.

beckham weighs 19.3 lbs and yes - court weighs in at 26, so any day now........

he is moving all over the place. his feet and hands go non-stop, but he just doesn't seem all that interested to get in the crawling position. although, i will say that yesterday i saw him getting in the crawling position in his crib, so i know he can do it. i think when he is awake, he has trained his brother (and us) to come get him or bring him a toy so he doesn't have to do the work. so smart already! :) which now that i think about it, i really want him to stay a "baby" longer, so i am all for him not crawling yet - cuz then it's really over!

the little miss has arrived! she entered the world on monday at 2:41 pm, weighing in at 6 lbs, 8 oz. she is ALL pink and ALL girl! :) we are so excited to finally have a girl in the family! she is going to be one tough girl with all of these boys!

i STILL can't believe beckham is 7 months old going on 8. this 2nd baby stuff goes by WAY too fast for me. we are having a great summer so far! beckham LOVES to be in the water splashing his hands and his feet. if he could swim as good as court right now, he'd be in hog-heaven! he is still LOVING his food, sitting up great, loves being held, and is a great snuggler. he is sleeping 11 hours in a row at night and still taking 3 naps. he has 4 precious teeth and still drooling up a storm. he has the best disposition and just an all around happy boy! he loves giggling at court and is trying really hard to play like his brother. he loves to squeal at the top of his lungs throughout the day. i think he's trying to copy court because one of court's favorite things to do right now is to see how loud he can SCREAM!! i have a feeling we're going to have a LOUD house! one of these days i'm sure he'll be ready to take off, but for now, he's content with just sitting around taking it all in. when he's on his belly, he'll rock back and forth, but no interest in crawling yet. one of these days.......

rhett and i weighed him the other day and he was 18.5 lbs according to our scale. i think court didn't hit 18 lbs til he was 8 months old. court is weighing in at 25 lbs now, so it won't be long til beckham catches up with him. i am LOVING this age with beckham AND court. they are just the 2 most precious boys! :) i am one blessed mommy and wife!

we took our 1st road trip as a family of four this past memorial day. we had just gotten our (new to us) suburban the week before, and it made it OH SO NICE to make the 6 hour trip. we squeezed ALOT of fun into the 3 1/2 days we were there. court had so much fun playing outside from sun up til sun down and he can't wait to go back!

mother's day 2010

i know i am WAY behind on blogging, so i am going to attempt to catch up. mother's day this year was SO AMAZING. having 2 boys to share it with just made it extra special. it started saturday afternoon with a pedicure while rhett and the boys had a guys day. i came home to rhett doing dinner with the boys and then he took over bedtime. it was nice to have a break and get my toes done! sunday, rhett and the boys made me breakfast and i got a great pic of the boys and their hand/foot prints. i also got the book I Will Carry You by Angie Smith. rhett knows how much i love her blog, so he thought i'd love her book too - which i do! we went to early church and then to mimi & pops to celebrate with the whole fam over lunch. i don't think court napped that day because there was too much fun to be had! he definitely konked early that night!!

i know that i was meant to be a mother to two boys, these 2 precious boys. and a wife to this man. i was born to be rhett’s wife and court & beckham's mommy. there is no doubt, i know.
i was born to carry the immense heartaches and immeasurable joys that come with being a mom, a mom of two boys i know it. it’s no accident, no random luck of the draw. i am immensely blessed.

this is WAY past due because we have been sick, sick, sick around here. it all started about 2 weeks ago with this cutie pie getting tonsillitis and an ear infection... which then spread to court, and then to mommy. rhett has yet to get sick, thank the LORD! baby boy was ALL better and then WHAMMOOO! sick again - ear infection and red throat is BACK and we are on round 2 of antibiotics... hoping this stuff kicks it in the tail! so, i'm a little behind on the blogging stuff.....
anyways.... here's the scoop on my little man who i just can't get enough of!!
at his 6 month well check which was right smack in the middle of these 2 sicknesses he weighed in at 17lbs. now, he's back up to 17.7 - trying to gain our weight back from being sick. he is 27 in. long and growing like a weed!! he is talking all the time, laughing, grabbing onto things, almost sitting up, loves to eat, loves to put EVERYTHING in his mouth, rolling all over the place, and just the cutest thing!
he still has the best smile and cutest dimples a momma could ever ask for. he lights up when he sees us or court come in the room and is reaching out to hold everyone. love that!!
i'm really at a loss for words thinking about the fact that my baby is 6 months old already. how has 1/2 a year gone by SO FAST? today we spent time dancing in the office while listening to some good ole' christian music. i love the dave crowder band by the way. i just love dancing with my boys and LOVE that i will always have at least 3 dance partners!

beckham turned 5 months old on the 19th and i am WAY behind on posting about it. we have had a busy 5 months. beckham is just the best baby. i feel like i say that every day because he is so laid back and just goes with the flow. beckham is rolling over all the time now and his favorite time of day to practice is between 1-3 AM. i'm not really sure why this is his favorite time - definitely not mine. we hear him on the monitor just having a good ole' time in his bed until he can't figure out how to get back on his tummy. so, mommy and daddy take turns flipping him back over until he finally gives up and goes back to sleep. i can't remember how long this lasted with court, but hopefully, he'll start practicing this more during the day. beckham has the best smile and the most precious 2 dimples.... it'll melt your heart. he is such a happy baby - we are very blessed. he just loves watching his brother court play - he'll follow him with his eyes all over the house. he is eating bananas and cereal each day and hopefully i'll get some other baby food made soon so he can expand his palate! he bounces so high in his bouncer i'm afraid he is going to fly out. we may have to put that thing away soon. he loves the sound of his voice right now. he just talks and talks and talks... especially when he is trying to fall asleep. he is a mover and a shaker that's for sure. he scoots ALL over his bed, his changing pad, and the floor. we really have to watch him now. beckham is also giving HUGS. when i hold him, he'll wrap both arms around my neck. i know it's not a real hug like court can give now, but i still count it as a hug. at least until he grabs my hair to put it in his mouth, or until he starts sucking on my chin to tell me he is hungry. i really had no idea how much work fun 2 children 2 and under would be. we are busy all day long and half the time at the end of the day, i really don't know what we got accomplished. any one else ever feel like that? :) loving my busy life although i would love to add about 10 extra hours (of sleep) between the hours of midnight and 6 AM. anyone know how to do that?

our easter weekend started off with rhett having the day off on friday. can i just tell you how much i LOVE it when rhett is home. one extra set of hands is OH SO NICE! he is such a great daddy and does EVERYTHING for his boys!! court spent the night with mimi & pops friday night and rhett and i got so much done around our house. i didn't realize how much time 2 kiddos take up until i just had 1 to deal with. it seemed like such a piece of cake - although i know it isn't. i remember how hard it was when i was a new mommy. now, i'm even more thankful for all the help we get from grandparents!! saturday morning we met mimi & pops and court at IBC for the Easter Eggsperience. we enjoyed an easter egg hunt, bounce houses, carnival games, face painting (court didn't do this), petting zoo, a picnic, and a fun room for toddlers under 3. court had SO much fun and fell asleep on the way home. he took a great 2 hour nap and then cade, aunt missy, and uncle jon came over to celebrate with another easter egg hunt, cupcake decorating, bubble bath, and play time. sunday we got up and went to the early service (we were even early to that). it was a GREAT service about christ's resurrection and our pastor who has been battling stage 4 colon cancer did a great job. we then grabbed a quick bite to eat. court fell asleep again on the way home and took another great nap. i think we had a fun filled weekend!
